Hulu Desktop
Those of you who like watching tv on your computers ala Hulu will love the new hulu-desktop application. I just installed it on my mac mini and it is f-in awesome. They have added a menu system that works well with the apple remote and still has all the functionality of the website. Now I just need to figure out how to get it launched from front-row...

So Close...
Sorry Jae, but the arcade will not be ready for you this weekend. The controls just came in today, so here's some pics of everything with my paper mock-up/template, as well as a picture of the original Neo Geo marquee I recently found online (I made the mini-marquees).

I sky dived today
With the stunt coordinator from Lost. I'll post pics later on, when I feel like taking the time to do that. We also did some cliff diving today. Tomorrow is more exploring. Should be interesting.
How's work everyone?

I was not able to move for a good 30 min after this happened, simply amazing. Who knows how far the Cavs will go, but this saved this series for them. Best shot I have ever seen.....

Aloha
I am off to Hawaii on Sunday for 9 days on Oahu. Fishing, Scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, and hiking are all on the schedule. We are staying on the North Shore. 5 nights here and 4 nights here...for FREE!
I know the J's went to some Hawaiian Island a while back. Which one was that? Anyone else been to Oahu?

Condo
Some of you already know this, but yesterday I signed my youth away and now I own a condo in DC. Most interesting part of the day was when I had to review all of my alias and not one of them was Drew Fasoli. Andy Fasoli was on there a few times. So now you are all welcome to visit and there will be a place for you to crash.

Blast from the Past
Turned on the TV at my office this morning and as I was flipping through the channels, I came across the show "Daria." Alex, does it bring back the shame of Nick making fun of you with that reference? I sure hope it does.

I doubt it will matter, but honestly how are you going to test positive for Marijuana 1 week before the NFL draft. Just hold off until you get paid!!! Some people do not deserve millions of dollars.

Most Aggrivating Day of My Life
Around 2 pm today, Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson's babydaddy and all-around douchebag, posted a partial phone number (missing one number) on twitter stating that it belonged to Mark Hoppus of Blink 182. The problem with that is the partial phone number matched my cell phone number and presumably nine other people's numbers. I have since received hundreds of phone calls, at least 500, along with an absurd amount of voicemails and text messages that say "Mark? ;)". When we finally figured out that the source of the phone calls was the twitter post, I immediately signed up and submitted a request to support that the post be removed and Pete Wentz be suspended from the website. I have yet to receive a response from support...

Greatest Par 3, ever
Link in title
Video of Padarig Harrington playing the 19th hole of the Legends Golf Course in South Africa. It is a par 3 at 900 yards. The tee box is more than 1,000 feet above the hole. There is literally tracking software and spotters to tell the golfers where their balls land. It is ridiculous. It is used as a playoff hole at the tournaments held there. If an amateur hits a hole-in-one, they win $1 Million US. I so want to play there.

This is just a call center, but it'd be great if this movement caught on and some manufacturing jobs came back to this country. I'd like to be able to turn something over in Target and not see it made in China.

I'll make some corrections on what the reporter messed up:
The reporter was all about organic. We do some but not all. Our focus is on Local.
We are not partnered with the farms, we started and operate them.
I am helping to get the new center for farmers off the ground. Once it is up and running, I will be in charge of assisting farmers with the financial planning and risk management of their farms.

Tesla's New Sedan Revealed
So true to form, Tesla has used their expensive roadster to pave the way for a slightly less expensive sedan. It looks pretty awesome for a sedan. Unlike the roadster, which was based on the Lotus Elise, the sedan is their own design. Lots of pictures.
If you don't know, Tesla makes all electric cars. They claim a 300 mile range, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and a 45 minute "quick charge". Frankly, it is all market speak until the product gets into some real hands.
It's good to see an American company innovating in these hard times. I hope they are successful, it is definitely not an easy industry to break into.

OnLive Game Service
[link in title] A glimpse into the future? Looks pretty cool. Think Netflix Watch Instantly but with video games. This gaming "console" does all the heavy computing on the service's computers and the resulting video is streamed to the small device which connects to the tv.
Games are available instantaneously without anything to download. Multi-player is available in the usual sense but also in the sense that you can "watch" your friend play and record & share "bragging" clips.
No pricing information released yet so it's hard to get too excited, but if the price is right I expect to be supporting this innovation.

Adult Slip N Slides?
Hey guys! How's everyone? Well the weather here in Miami is perfect right now and out here we started reminicing about slip n slides (well actually I never used ine as a kid-gasp!) and began to think it might be fun to build an adult slip n slide. I don't know why but I thought some of you might have done this before or would have some good ideas... Anyone?

Is true Rory?
So I was reading this thing on crazy laws. One of them was this:
- In Florida, unmarried women who parachute on Sundays can be jailed.
Is that true Mr. Law man?
Or How about this one?
- In Oklahoma, USA, it is still illegal to make faces at a dog, a crime that could result in a prison sentence.

Check out the link in the title.
I didn't think they allowed this kind of thinking on CNBC. I wonder how much longer you will be able to say these things out loud in America.
Maybe CNBC is trying to put their best foot forward for the possible upcoming fairness doctrine, a.k.a. a complete collective government shit on the Bill of Rights.

What will they think of next?
So last weekend I went to Washington (state) to visit Allie's brother. I was excited to try all the cool west coast beers that are tough to come by in the NE. I had some cool Rogue brews like the Capt. Sig's Deadliest Ale, which is a tribute to the show on Discovery Deadliest Catch. Also had a very tasty porter called Black Butte from Deschutes brewery. One other that was cool was this unfiltered amber ale called Mac and Jack's African Amber. I realize that Alex may be the only one that cares about this but then I came across the Bud Light in the picture.
Yes, apparently they make a Bud light mixed with delicious tomato based clam juice, with a hint of lime. It

I'm sure you have heard it already, but GM and Chrysler are back for more.
Here's a money saving idea... GMC = Chevy, why the redundant lines? All I want is the chance to buy a Volt damnit, why does GM have to be such a shitty company. Maybe the Japs will come out with something even cooler.

Woodpeckers
Since its been slow around here:
A Mexican woodpecker and a Canadian woodpecker were in Mexico arguing about which place had the toughest trees. The Mexican woodpecker claimed Mexico had a tree that no woodpecker could peck.
The Canadian woodpecker accepted his challenge and promptly pecked a hole in the tree with no problem. The Mexican woodpecker was amazed.
The Canadian woodpecker then challenged the Mexican woodpecker to peck a tree in Canada that was absolutely 'impeckable' (a term frequently used by woodpeckers ). The Mexican woodpecker expressed confidence that he could do it and accepted the challenge.
The two flew to Canada where the Mexican woodpecker successfully pecked the so-called 'impeckable' tree almost without breaking a sweat.
Both woodpeckers were now terribly confused. How is it that the Canadian woodpecker was able to peck the Mexican tree, and the Mexican woodpecker was able to peck the Canadian tree, yet neither was able to peck the tree in their own country?
After much woodpecker pondering, they both came to the same conclusion:
Apparently, your pecker gets harder when you're away from home.

FSU > UF ??? Lets find out.....
All-time NCAA Team Prestige rankings going back to the last 70 yrs of college football. Just thought I would stir the pot a little. Oh and yes this includes this year's championship win by the Gates. Go Noles baby maybe another couple of good years will help you catch up!!!
9.
Florida State SeminolesTotal points: 1,110Positives: No team dominated college football so completely for an extended period of time like Florida State did in the '90s. Between 1990 and 1999, Florida State led the nation in major bowl appearances (nine), major bowl wins (seven), consensus All-Americans (19), weeks at No. 1 (58), 10-win seasons (10), first-round draft picks (13) and top-5 finishes (10). The 1993 season was especially great, with three consensus All-Americans, the Heisman winner (Charlie Ward) and a national championship. The Seminoles gained 119 points that year, a Prestige Rankings single-season record.
Negatives: If you wanted a refresher on just what Bobby Bowden has accomplished in Tallahassee, consider this: Florida State hasn't had a losing season since Bowden's first year there in 1976. In the 23 seasons before that, FSU had 10 losing campaigns and just one bowl win (1965 Gator Bowl over Oklahoma).
Through the decades: Through 1958: 75th 1968: T-70th 1978: T-69th 1988: 31st 1998: 11thDid you know? In the 1990s, Florida State's dominance added up to 640 Prestige points. To put that into perspective, that is almost 100 points more than Notre Dame has accrued since 1970.
15.
Florida GatorsTotal points: 834Positives: Florida has won two of the past three national championships (and three in the past 13 years). It is ahead of in-state rival Miami in fourth place in the BCS era. The Gators have chomped their way to 10 major bowls since 1991, winning six of them. A Gator has won the Heisman Trophy three times -- only four programs can claim more. Their 34 first-round draft picks are the fourth most of any program. They also haven't had a losing season since 1979.
Negatives: Most of Florida's success has come in the past 20 years. When using the eras before the BCS was created, Florida never finished higher than 27th in any of them. Through 1958, Florida was buried in the bottom half of the nation, behind schools such as Indiana, Vanderbilt and Rutgers. The Gators didn't win a bowl game in the '70s at all. They also have been on probation three times, costing them 22 points in our formula.
Through the decades: Through 1958: T-80th 1968: 51st 1978: 44th 1988: 43rd 1998: 20thDid you know? Florida has six top-5 finishes in the past 25 seasons, which is tied with the rest of the SEC East combined.

hey all
i am back from 10 days in bum-f*** new mexico where we were doing a test for work.
amanda, hope you are feeling better. ava is also under the weather. she was bitten by a dog at the dog park and is now sporting a sweet Elizabethan collar and antibiotics. on the plus side, she gets her butt rubbed with ointment twice a day and how many of us can say that?
i wasn't able to watch the inauguration since we were working. i am now catching up on things due to the magic of digital-video-recording. even without watching the speech, i am already overwhelmed by the amount of coverage that was on tv and radio. notice that i didn't call it news coverage because even though it's on cnn i can only hear someone say "making history" so many times and still call it news. i think the networks ran out of worthwhile things to say about 16 minutes into the coverage and needed to use 6-days 7-hrs 43-mins of interviewing people in the crowd to fill in until the actual inauguration. don't get me wrong, i am as excited (exited) about the possibilities that Obama brings as anybody else. but listening to stacey from south carolina drone on about the other people from south carolina that she just happened to run into is not really enriching my life nor is it informing me of the news.
talking about dvr's, let me just say that going back to old-school non-dvr tv watching at the hotel sucks big donkey ****. not being able to watch two shows that air simultaneously is almost as annoying as having to time my sh*ts on commercial breaks.

Kickball Playoffs
Playoffs start on Friday. Everyone that can should come out and support us!
Also, I got the 700th Post!
What am I supposed to do when I stay home from work if I don't have a blog to read?
Somebody talk about something... it's been too long, my birthday was over a week ago. Here's a list of possibilities:
- I am currently rocking an awesome case of Strep Tonsillitis (not really recommended for conversation, I'm just looking for sympathy)
- Obama's inauguration speech seemed pretty depressing. And I have it saved on my DVR.
- Nobody fun is playing in the Superbowl, but I think there should still be parties.
- Anquan Boldin was a huge baby after the NFC Championship, and that made me sad for FSU... crap.
- Somebody playing kickball: talk about kickball. Unless that's a sore subject...
Okay I tried to get the ball rolling. That's all I got.

Predictions
Let's start it up. Not what you WANT to happen, but what you THINK will happen in the Championship game.
Nick's Prediction: After watching Texas and Texas Tech struggle it is obvious they have not faced any good defenses all year. However, this will be the best offense UF has faced all year. In the end I think UF will pull it out with a 31-24 victory and the Timmy love fest continues...lets just hope by some miracle he leaves for the NFL haha....

In the end I think UF will pull it out with a 31-24 victory and the Timmy love fest continues...lets just hope by some miracle he leaves for the NFL haha....

Back from ski trip, New Year's Eve plans
Hey all, we just got back from Gatlinburg, TN and wanted to remind you that everyone is invited over to our place for New Year's Eve. Let me know if you think you'll be coming in the comments so I can get an idea of how many people I should expect. The ski trip went really well considering it was my first time skiing. I took a lesson to get the feel for it and spent most of the night on the green circle run with everybody else. For my last trip down the mountain I went down a blue square. I felt like I was going 100mph and was totally out of control. Just before I was about to go off the side of the mountain I laid it down and slid for about 50-100 feet. Teddy was laughing so hard that he took his first and only fall of the night. Overall it was an awesome trip, we'll definitely go again in the near future.

Merry Christmas Eve
Well today is the last day of work for me until the 5th. Not sure what I will do to keep myself busy but I will try to find something. Wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas Eve since tomorrow you will probably be busy with Tiny Little Infant Jesus stuff. For those of you who are making it to the DiVincenzo's party today, give my family a hug, have an extra plate, and down an extra cold one for me.
Best wishes- j

MyCatchLog v2.0
Hey Guys and Girls -
We are in our final stage of testing for MyCatchLog v2. We added some cool stuff like automatically generating the sea conditions based on buoy data. Another cool feature is the ability to right click on the map to generate GPS coordinates. It is also a lot faster to enter catches. I logged my last fishing trip in the old version and it took me 3 mins 45 secs. This version took me 1min 3 secs for the exact same trip.
Go sign up and try to break it! Let me know what you find that is not working so we can fix it.

Thanks!

PS for those of you who have already registered, we have not migrated the old user data to the new version yet so you will have to make a new account.

Its Official - FLORIDA vs. OKLAHOMA

I know its about a month away, but damn it I'm excited! So what are your thoughts about the game?
Noles look like they'll have a pretty easy bowl game. I have no confidence whatsoever in teams from the Big Ten. FSU should destroy Wisconsin easily.
Also I'm pretty excited about the Cotton Bowl with Ole Miss facing off against Texas Tech. It will be interesting to see the outcome of that game, what with all the Texas fans saying we shouldn't be in the NC game because of our loss to #24 Ole Miss.

BCS
I am looking forward to this weekend in hopes that the BCS screwes things up. It could get real interesting if Missouri some how beats OU. However, what would happen if UF barely beats Bama?? I was looking at the BCS and noticed the computers have UF ranked 6th (probably because of the weak schedule compared to the Big 12 teams, which playing Bama should fix that). Would they get enough computer love to jump Texas?? One would think so certainly the human pollsters would put the SEC champ in 1st or 2nd, but would the computers? I mean if Bama wins it is done and done and if UF blows them out, which I can see happening it is probably done and done as well. Got to love the BCS.

We converted our Florida State friend's dog into a Florida fan! Now she's cheering for the BEST team in FL, maybe even the nation! Go Gators!

Christmas Plans...
So I'm in the process of figuring out time off to come to B-Town for Christmas. So what is the deal for X-Mas? Parties, who is coming home etc...? I would like to plan my time accordingly so I can make as many events as I can!
Rivalry Week
Well it is finally here Rivarly Week. I do not know about you guys, but I am pretty excited. A chance for teams like Auburn and FSU to knock teams out of the National Championship and with a little luck (Maryland winning) go to a conference championship ourselves. Let me start off with first good luck Alex.
I know UF is playing some awesome football right now, but if we play like we did last Saturday against Maryland we have a shot. FSU has nothing to lose so hopefully we play balls to the wall. We just need to limit turnovers and not let Brandon James get a bunch of returns if those two things happen are chances increase dramatically. Oh yea we are undefeated this year when we actually have our full team playing (aka meaning nobody suspended). It is going to be fun that is for sure hopefully it is a good game. #4 BCS v #20 BCS may the best team win.....hopefully that is the Noles!!! F the GATES.....
PS Good luck this weekend Alex.....

Kickball
We had our second kickball game last night. We won 4-3. I think the beers we had beforehand had something to do with our win.
Rory had the game winning kick and got an RBI out of it. He also did something else NO OTHER GUY in the league has done. I will let him tell you what it was. Don't keep the people waiting Rory!

Surround Speaker Installation
Here's the end result. The speaker installation was pretty painless, and I must say they sound great. If anyone is in the market, I highly recommend monoprice.com's 8" in-ceiling speakers. They're only $50 a pair!
