Well the day has finally come that Watchmen is out in theaters. Who is going to see it this weekend??? I already have my tickets for tonight, so I'll send a post with my thoughts. Either way I am excited.
Well I definitely enjoyed the movie but I can imagine if you are not already familiar with the story, that it will be confusing. For those interested in seeing it, I would definitely suggest reading the graphic novel first. The story is amazing. It is a pretty quick read and is really engaging. Unfortunately, the best part of the story, the ending, is totally different in the movie and sort of sucks. Pick up a copy and then go see it.
I'm with Nick on this one. It is NOT as advertised, and consists of maybe 3 action scenes during the 3 hour snore-fest. For the record I have not read the book, so perhaps I am missing something, but I thought it was pretty terrible.
I've heard a myriad of mixed reviews for the movie. Personally, I still can't wait to see it. Having read the graphic novel, I'm pretty sure I know what to expect. Its a dark story, not an action movie. I'm taking Adam advice, and not that little dweeb Nick's.
The trailers are to blame here since they give the viewer absolutely no idea what the movie is really about. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm assuming quite a bit has been edited/changed/simplified in order to get the entire 12 book series into 1 movie, probably making it even more confusing for someone who does not already know the story.
They actually did a fairly good job of staying true to the book and didn't leave out too much. The only problem is that they left out a series of events that lead to the original ending so they had to make up a new ending that was not nearly as effective.
Nick, I'm sorry it was too adult for you. Maybe Michael Bay will come out with something to satisfy you. =)
Nick, your taste is awful. I know you are going to see that new Nicolas Cage movie, "Knowing," too. Terrible. I hope Irene is aware of this glaring character defect.

I am also going to brave the crowds tonight and go see it.
Is it a good story? I had never heard of it until recently.
I'm with Alex, was this around when we were growing up? I am oblivious.

I thought the movie was horrible. Do not waste your time unless you take Adam's advice.
