Texas Trip

So I went to Texas this past weekend for a little relaxation after the nightmare of an election cycle. The highlight of the trip, other than the alcohol and BBQ was playing flip cup with a bunch of FBI agents. One of the agents, George Piro, had the honor of spending 7 months interrogating Saddam Hussein. Here are a couple of pictures. Piro is the shorter guy with the glasses. All of his buddies are agents and also former Military Officers, amazingly of the 5, all 4 branches were represented. I went against the guy from the Air Force who was probably the worst player, but the biggest bad ass because he graduate from Halo School.

I guess some people know what they voted for.

Welcome to the USSA

The United Socialist States of America. For those so inclined, get up, go to work, and we will make sure you get the same allotment as the lazy slobs that brought this to pass.

How long until I can get one of those stickers that says: "Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him."

A Disgrace

So I am sure you all heard about the story from Pittsburgh where the chick claimed some black guy mugged her and craved a B on her face. Well it was a douche bag from Colgate who was pushing the story. The title links to an amusing blog post about him or click below.

Well nobody has posted for a while so I figured why not. This weekend will be a football filled weekend for me. I am flying out to Tally tomorrow morning to pretend I am in college again for a weekend. Leighton will be joining me in watching FSU take on Va Tech which should be a great game. Then we are driving over to Jville on Sunday to take in the Browns vs the Jags which hopefully will be a good game. All and all it will be a weekend filled with tailgating, hanging out with family and friends and a SHIT TOWN OF BEER. Hope everybody has a good weekend and good luck to your teams and remember Cash Money's Motto....Drink till your throw up.....

PS I am retarded excited about the Noles this weekend you have no idea.....this game could be another BIG step in the right direction.

Death Magnetic

Anyone heard Metallica's new album, Death Magnetic? I didn't even know it came out, but came across it in iTunes today. It turns out it's #1 on the Billboard rock albums chart, and it is freaking awesome! At least Adam, Bryan, and Alex should give this a listen, I'm not sure if anyone else is a fan. This album is the anti-St. Anger, getting much closer to the sound of Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.

Pre-wiring Surround Sound

In the spirit of Jae's network wiring post, I thought I'd show you guys a wiring project that I just finished. I just got a new receiver (Onkyo TX-SR606), and wanted to pre-wire the room for 7.1 surround before I bought the surround speakers to make sure it could be done. Now that it's done, I plan to get 2 pairs of in-ceiling speakers for the surround and surround-back speakers.
The new receiver

Surround wires attached to the fish tape

Vote for me

I'm tired of all this political crap.  I think I'll run.

Ahhhh

Well it was not the prettiest win ever but beating a rival that you hate always feels good. I can not believe we almost gave that game away but the offense looked damn good. It was a nice win for our young team. God I am happy I hate Miami so much.

Nice win by UF before your big game next week...I think LSU right?

As for Auburn your defense deserves much better then the crap offense it is saddled with that is for sure. Not saying FSU deserves to be ranked but how the hell is Auburn still ranked 20th with two losses. I mean with wins against La Tech, Southern Miss, Miss and Tenn is not exactly top 25 material with losses coming against ranked teams. Yes they came close but that does not mean shit.

As for Colgate...well your game was canceled because of some outbreak at Georgetown...what the hell is that???

Game 2

The rays win again, 6-2. It was much more of a team effort this time. Kazmir looked bad early, quickly giving up 2 in the first, but the White Sox stranded 3 in that inning and that began the theme of the night. Overall the White Sox left 12 runners on base. Kazmir started to pitch better, but had to come out early due to a high pitch count (threw 37 pitches in the first inning). Kazmir and the bullpen bent but didn't break, never giving up the big hit. It was an intense 3-2 game until the 8th inning, where the Rays finally broke through and got some insurance runs. The Red Sox won as well, making it 12 straight playoff wins against the Angels, and look to sweep back at home with Beckett on the mound. Here's a picture of our view for Game 2. We were in the second row of the outfield just left of the left field foul pole.

For those of you that watched the debate...

An objective look at some of errors made on both sides...

First Rays Playoff Game!

I know most of you don't care, but we went to Game 1 of the ALDS between the Rays and the White Sox. This was important because it was the first Rays playoff game in their somewhat short history. It was a pretty spectacular game, and the Rays won 6-4 with the help of the soon to be AL rookie of the year Evan Longoria hitting 2 home runs in his first 2 at-bats. I'll be at the game tonight as well, cheering for the Rays. If they win this series, and the Red Sox beat the Angels in theirs, I may actually get to see the Red Sox in a playoff series in person for the first time! Here's some pics of the crowd and the giant flag from the pre-game.

Wow! Talk about silence...

This blog appears to go into a vegetative state when the Gators lose a game.

Cheer up Gator fans! One lose doesn't destroy your season. Have you forgotten that y'all won a National title with one loss? Remember that going undefeated in the SEC actually hurts your chances of playing for a title.

Your Tebow man-crushs and stalker tendencies will return soon enough, and you can continue to sleep soundly knowing that you do not have Auburn's offense or FSU's coaching staff.

Those in the middle always get squeezed

I have to say I for one am not looking forward to the ass raping I am about to receive. 700 billion divided by the approximately 150 million of us who pay taxes equates to a little less than $4700 a person. The price tag is high, but not too hard a pill to swallow, but the act which causes the bile to rise up into the back of my throat is that there is no lesson learned. Consequence for actions is a great motivator, one finger in the light socket and a child learns that this is not a wise decision. Everyone gets a pass in this one, clearing a path to grander more calculated levels of financial malevolence. Let it all burn, let consequence take its rightful place and you will see a stronger financial system where common sense is the norm instead of the aberration. If we continue to throw good money after bad to buy something we know is worthless, we deserve the consequences.

I have some concerns about the vagueness of the plan and the fact that not all facets are being considered.

After the federal goverment buys said debt, are they in fact the owner of the house represented by the debt? If said house is in foreclosure, is the federal goverment on the hook to maintain it? What will the federal goverment do with said properties it owns? Will they make it goverment housing? If they own the property, and they are not interested in turning a profit because they are not business, and they do not rely on revenue generated to fund their operations, will they sell these properties at a loss in effect resetting the property values to whatever arbitrary level they deem acceptable? If the property values are significantly harmed, what will happen to the responsible people in the neighborhood, who paid their mortgages, won't this be adding insult to injury?

Who am I?

Who am I?

I am known for being a political reformer.

I cleaned up the Republican Party, uncovering corruption and graft.

I was mayor of my home town.

I went after corruption within the police force.

I have a large family and some question if I should be in government with young children to raise.

I love to hunt.

I hunt moose.

I hunt other big game.

I hunt wolves.

I was Governor of my state...but...

After less than two years as governor I was chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate.

Now you know who I am!

The Deafening Silence

UF 30 - UT 6
LSU 26 - AUB 21
WF 12 - FSU 3
GOD 2 - Louisiana 0

Positives; Auburn found the endzone against a talented defense, BBQ is still delicious, Bobby Bowden can return to his nap, I got to watch Fulmer summon his gravy bucket with which to drown his sorrows. The best part is that your hopes were reawakened only to have them crushed in such spectacular fashion. Sometimes the world is so full of beauty I can barely contain it.

Birthday

Happy Birthday Dinky!

AIG and Football

Well looks like it was a good decision on my part to leave AIG. At the time I was struggling with leaving a big well established firm to a smaller firm one that might fold due to the economy. Well luckily I made the right choice. I am also partly stunned the fed bailed them out.

Anyway looking forward to FSU first real test this weekend or for that matter the first ranked team any of our teams have played yet. I have high hopes for this weekend I have been drinking the Jimbo Fisher cool aid that is for sure.

Predictions:

FSU 30 Wake 17

UF 35 Tenn 24

Aub 10 LSU 17
