Growing Up - Step 1

So now that I am in a serious relationship again and bachelor life appears to be over, I decided to re-focus on the long-term and make some changes financially. The most obvious change being reducing my $600 car payment on my Evolution. After about two months of removing/selling parts and finding a car, I finally made the deal this weekend.

From $36k 2008 Mitsubishi Evo GSR...

To $18k 2005 Subaru WRX STI...

Obviously I was crazy upside-down in the Evo, but I was able to sell all my aftermarket parts for about $6k, so I was able to get out cleanly...which is a miracle considering I owned it 1 year in January.

Step 1 Complete.

I see how you work. Use the nice car to pick up the ladies, then once you have one wrapped up, get rid of car...

Got it.

Tell us more about this new car.

If the Evo was to have a 'rival'...it would be the STI. They are basically the only competition for each other in the car world because they are both all-wheel drive turbo.

This car already has some things done to it, so I really don't plan on doing much more. I do need to replace a few things and fix a few things, but what do you expect for a 2005.

Nice work. I can't wait to see what Step 2 is... WRX is a great car though. Subaru's are very popular up here and they seem to last damn near forever.

Step 2....
Step 3: Profit!

this seems like more of a lateral movement than growing up since they are rivals for one another. i think you need to dump this one and pick up an Oldsmobile Silhouette.

Chili: What is this?
Attendant: An Oldsmobile Silhouette.
Chili: I reserved a Cadillac.
Attendant: Yeah, well, this one's the Cadillac of minivans.

I'm looking at it stricly in money terms Jae...not growing up out of my love for cars...lol

Jae, that was a great reference. Bryan, it looks good for being a 2005. Best of luck with entering adulthood. I am still trying like hell to avoid it.

Nice change! The new car looks good.

Step 2 should be move back to Bradenton, or at least come to the Bradenton beer fest.

If your important they we will wait for you J, awesome quote love that movie!

I used to love those cars Leighton and you will be cutting your payment in half, which is always nice.

"Its chili out side, its chili inside...its a regular fucking chili fest"

Bradenton Brewfest? That aint got shit on the Central New York Brewfest. Have gone every year since senior year in college, except last year, as I was dealing with a shattered ankle. But I am going again a week from Friday. Gonna hit up some good Yankee beers, Pride of MIlford, Brooklyn Beer, Molson XXX (think a 40 mixed with grain alcohol) and other good stuff. Probably the only thing that is better is the weather, seeing as Syracuse will probably be 20 or 30 degrees.

Ahh, I remember now. The Chili should have given it away, I don't know any other Chilis... but I blanked. Geez I seem to be quite off lately.
