new car!
On Thursday, we decided to plan on going today to buy a new car to get rid of Mike's cause it was getting to that scary stage. Well ironically, Thursday afternoon Mike's car was totaled. He's ok, just a little sore still, but we actually made out. We got double what his car was worth, plus money for pain and suffering. So we're gonna use some money to fix up our other car, and we were able to put a little down on this one. Its a 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0 S. We lucked out because we almost ended up with a gray or black car, but as I was looking at the black one saying, "I don't want black, I want blue... I want blue... I don't want a boring color again..." a guy drove up a blue one right off the delivery truck. We ended up getting the fully loaded version (since that's what the blue one was) instead of the standard one we were planning on through USAA, for only like $400 more. Plus a free tint job. Plus free extended warranty. Yay! It has keyless entry, blue tooth, and a bunch of other non-needed but cool features. Here's a few pics:

Nice! The inside looks pretty sweet! Car dealers are hurtin bad right now...so you definitely picked the perfect time to buy one!
Glad to hear Mike's doing okay. Sounds like you got a great deal on a great car! I love the color too! I guess you guys are officially a Nissan family now ;-)

awesome car guys, too bad you didn't end up doing usaa though. i was curious to see how that works since we will probably end up doing that whenever we scrape up enough for a new car :).
We did go through USAA kind of. We found the car on their website (they find the cheapest one in your area) and printed out the papers stating how much it would be, which was like $2000 under the price. Since the dealer didn't have the car we wanted, they took $2000 off the loaded version since that's what USAA had given us, then we still got all the rebates the dealership was having because of the holiday weekend.
What is this USAA you guys are speaking of?
Its a military and retired military financial institution. They do banking, marketing, insurance... etc. We have the best deal ever on car insurance, and for car buying most cars were available to us for $100 over invoice. 4 years of hell for Mike is working to our advantage now ;)
also if your parents served and were members during their service, their children can become members. that's how i snuck in :).
