I don't know what's happening to me but I actually felt bad tonight (we'll just call it being a supportive sister). I missed it all because I had to work but I heard it was a good fight. Why the hell do you guys say War Eagle anyway?
It was a great game. Auburn had some stingy D in the second half. But I have to say, that replay sure looked like Leak's arm was in forward motion, which should have made it an incomplete pass.
I would like to post my theory that, until the bowl system is changed, no SEC team will never win a championship again. It's not possible w/ the (to steal Eric's phrase) "pillow-fight" schedule that the other Top 10 teams play and the impossibility of escaping the conference schedule w/ out a loss. Discuss.
I had no way of seeing from where I was sitting, but the call was reviewed from the booth and they have all the good angles. I heard that Leak was tucking the ball when it came out and that there is no "tuck" rule in college like there is in the pros. Either way, it is very unfortunate that one play is going to be how people look back at the game rather than two SEC teams beating the hell out of each other for 60 minutes.
I agree 100% with Jae! The media acts like the SEC hurts itself by not putting a team in the national title game, but they forget how deep the conference is. I guess they want the other teams in the conference to lay down so that one of them might make it to the national title game.
That idea may not be too crazy Alex. I would vote for a chance in the title game once every 6 years (if we let all the top 25 SEC teams rotate through), than never again.
Good game to Auburn, and the game was definitely not lost on that call, but the muffed punt fumble that gave Auburn seven. You just can't give points. I know it might be crazy to say this, but in a lot of ways I think as SEC fans winning the conference championship is almost as great as winning the national championship. Now of course there would be nothing as great as a national championship , but with the passion and intensity of the SEC, "Where Football REALLY Lives", there's no other conference championship more important. So in answer to your question Jae, the primary goal of every SEC team is and should be to win the conference and let the national picture take care of itself.
It is my belief that the winner of the national title should be required to rotate into SEC for the next year. In exchange we will rotate out our worst team. Pretty much guarantee no team goes twicw in a row

You should never feel bad for the Gators! :) I will try to post the story for the "War Eagle" battle cry.
