Hey guys I have a question for you. Irene is looking for a host/site and wanted some suggestions on where it would be best to get it started. Obviously she would prefer a host/site that works well with pictures as she is looking to have a portfolio website. She just did a mini photo shoot with two of her dresses she designed and would like to get them on the web. At first it just needs to be simple something where people can go to see the dresses nothing to complicated. I believe she has registered a domain name already. Not sure if my host/site terminology is correct, but I think you get what I am asking. Anyway any suggestions would be very helpful.
I had no good suggestions as the only website I have made is nickville and well as awesome as it was it was not the most sophisticated.
PS You can thank Rory's for making me take it down, but do not fret I saved most of the good stuff on my computer.
Rory is a beeoooooooootch.

is she looking for someone to create the website, or just somewhere to host a website that she creates? for the latter, a lot of guys at work use hostmonster.com, i don't know of any website creation companies. i know hostmonster has some tools that help you create a website, but i don't know how sophisticated they are.
I just built one using yahoo site builder and it is hosted at yahoo. It was very easy and they have about 100 templates that are easily changed. You can't get to technical with it though. BUT, you need to know exactly NO html to build it.
At first it is going to be rather simple so I think she was just hoping to get a site that has a few templates or is very user friendly.
I think down the road she will probably want some professional help, but for not something simple.
Thanks for the info.
godaddy.com and networksolutions.com are two of the largest domain name registrars, and they both do hosting as well. Getting her own domain name is a must, it wouldn't look all that professional for her address to be whatever.googlepages.com.
i concur
How about www.Nicks_mexican_woman.com?
Just kidding, Irene.
Haha that is a good one Alex she got a good laugh out of it.
She registered her domain name through godaddy.com irenecanales.com is what she went with for now. Thanks for the other suggestions I will forward them on to her.
I should have opened the floor to possible domain names...now that would have been good.
wow...that is original and creative.
haha
