A screenshot from the Oxford English Dictionary, showing that there is more than one definition for portend. Also, I believe that this makes using portend to mean "pretend" is also accurate, although it is not the most commonly used definition for the word. I think we should be seeing some extra points for Adam and Brian, too.

Both of those defn's are "obsolete".
I'll put it to a vote, if everyone thinks you deserve points, then you'll get them.

Your anger seems to point to some truth in my statement...
The definitions are "rare" though. Hence, not common but still proper definitions.
