So I got laid-off yesterday from my job at Washington Mutual. Not that I am surprised; after the first round of lay-offs last month, our jobs changed drastically. So, for the last couple weeks, I have been inventing things to do just to keep busy and keep from hanging myself in my cube. Long story short...my job was eliminated, along with every other admin below senior management. I didn't even like my job; it was such a waste of time...but they paid me well. It just sucks to have to find another one. I have a one month working notice, so technically my last day is June 2nd, plus I am eligible for 6 weeks severance...haha stupid bastards. I have the possibility of making out like a bandit.
Luckily...I worked in the a WaMu corporate hub and have made some very good contacts. I already have some VPs asking for my resume (which I have to update tonight), so it appears they will be doing the searching for me;) Suckers.
I was thinking of starting my own business, but I don't know what I would want to do...any ideas? I was thinking that once I move into Jax again, I might start a mobil detailing business since I love cars so much. What do you think? Selling myself short?

Josh, you need to hook Bryan up w/ a job at Wachovia...
Im not sure what u mean by mobile detailing it kinda sounds like washing cars but if you can make some money and it keeps you happy then who's to say anything about selling urself short. Get a few of these mexicans to work for ya pay them a few pinto beans and some beer and it sounds like a business to me. Yo im seriously considering looking for a job in j-ville so heat up the market for me.
I know you have to be 150% passionate about something if you are going to start your own business doing it because the logistics of the whole mess is going to deflate you a little bit.
hey bryan,
i just thought, this may be a sign from above. i remember i told you about my mom's business before (http://newoptions.tsfl.com/tsfl/).
you should seriously look into it, if you want i can have my mom call you if you have any questions. i think you'd be really good at it.
