In terms of FSU well if we don't beat Duke all hell is going to break lose. Honestly as pathetic as it is it may be a decent game to watch, they have a good QB and receivers. Amazing we can go with being tied with Oklahoma in the 4th Qtr to hoping to beat Duke. I don't even want to think about if we don't, let's just hope we do so FSU can salvage some type of season.

UF v Auburn
It is great to see you guys playing each other again, seems like it has been a while. Hopefully there can be some good shit talking for this game. With this being a road game for UF and there QB play downright awful I think Auburn will take this. Auburn has not exactly been lightin it up either so who knows what to expect. What I do hope for us a competive fun game.

Wow, nothing? Your restraint is impressive. I guess we'll let the game do the talking!
i'm on travel and won't even get to watch the game :(. i'm guessing we find a way to win because if not muschamp is going to have his work cut out for him rebuilding confidence. i mean i understand about losing your qb and backup but isn't that why we pay him the big bucks? he needs to find a spark and make shit happen. losing to lsu is one thing, losing to auburn is something else. sorry alex :).
Well so far this game sucks ass to watch. Charlie Weis is so fat it grosses me out when they show his FUPA.
so i got a chance to watch the game on espn360. can i just say that espn360 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. i'm on travel right now but i was able to log in using my cox id/pw and watch the game on replay. technology is great. on the other hand the gators are not. let me just put it out there that the first no-call on the kick-catch interference was bs. but that being said we could never get anything going on offense. the only time we started moving the ball with burton, weis changed gears and screwed us. i feel like the zook offense is back on the field.
Oh boy zook comparisons....
Well, the game was ugly to say the least. UF looked the worst I have ever seen them play.
I also thought the catch interference call was missed until I saw the replay and I am not convinced contact was made. However, if we are complaining about missed calls, we can discuss: the UF player pushing the AU punt receiver after he caught the ball and called fair catch, the UF punt block team hitting our punter, or AU being called for 2 defensive facemask penalties when the infraction took place away from the play (never seen that before.)
Anyway, I am glad we won, but I was far from thrilled with the win. However, I will take them whether they are ugly or not.
Exactly a win is a win is a win. Well UF has to hope Brantley get's back (still can't believe I am typing that) if they want to beat UGA and avoid the 4 first game losing streak in god knows how long.
Either way hopefully FSU can beat a bad Maryland team this weekend to move our record to 4-3. It might have been only Duke, but at least we did not shoot oursevles in the foot with penalties and turnovers like against Clemson and Wake.
i'd give you the pushing the punt receiver (but only if i get my kick catch interference called too ;)). as far as roughing the kicker, he was barely rolled into and he obviously tried selling it. the refs, the announcers, and every other non-au fan wasn't buying it. the facemasks were clearly visibly on the replay so i'm not sure what there is to complain about there.
I hope the link works. Do you still think the interference call is warranted?

This is more like it! Some good old fashioned arguing!
Alex, that link didn't work.
I have not seen a replay, but at the time it looked like catch interference to me (however, I was quite drunk at that point). Let's be honest punters are like soccer players, you know they are going to act it up to get some yardage so you have to avoid contact at all costs.
The link works for me when I copy and paste it.
Ok. I am watching the game on my DVR (yes, I know that is concerning.)
The interference call that Jae is referring to was called correctly on the field. Rainey was not hit by the Auburn player (McCalebb) and was given an opportunity to catch the ball since it hit him in the chest. The rules require only that he have an opportunity to catch the ball. I don't know why Blackledge kept referring to a "halo" considering there is no longer a halo rule in college football.
Also, the roughing the passer call when Burton got hit was ridiculous considering he was running the option and got hit right after pitching it. If that call is warranted then Burton needs a skirt.
I vote for the skirt...
i don't think a single frame pulled from the video can really tell anything. when i watch it back on replay it clearly looks like the defender interfered with rainey being able to field the punt. i'm sure this is one of those calls that no matter how it is called on the field, the other teams' fans think the ref got it wrong. the bottom line is that we lost even if this call went the other way. in the words of the fsu fans, "maybe next year" ;)
If I am not mistaken J I think that is something you guys actually said at the end of last year referring to beating FSU....
Alex, not sure if you watched the UF game, but having a QB start his first or second career game @LSU is not the recipe for success.
If you watched our last game, it is obvious that we don't have a choice.
Trotter is terrible and Frazier makes mistakes when he throws. Moseley is all we have.
