ha, what a find. we'll show alex the real las-vegas.
i didn't know this was going to be alex's first time. i think in light of that we should definitely stay on the strip.
since you guys are getting in earlier than us, we'll stay wherever you pick. let's put eric in charge since he's been before and knows the lay of the land. we want something on the strip, cheap, and gay-frien... i mean a real vegas experience
Here's the lay of the land. Oddly enough the Platinum is directly behind Bally's (where we stayed last time for those who don't know). I've also stayed at the MGM and that was pretty awesome. Has anyone heard anything about the new construction south of the Bellagio? It's looks expensive on their site, I wonder if there are any deals.
I just did a sidestep search for two nights (Sat-Mon) for us, and these seemed like the best deals....
Planet Hollywood $328 MGM $381 TI $350 Mirage $435 Bally's $230 Caesar's $312
Not sure what the price for three nights is for those of you flying in Friday, but center strip is probably the best location (e.g. PH, Caesar's, Bally's)
Interesting... I've been searching rates for 3 nights (fri-mon) and found the best deals at Monte Carlo and Trump. When searching the same site for 2 nights (sat-mon) I'm not even offered rooms at those hotels. This just got a little more complicated.
Expedia.com has the Monte Carlo @ $108/night for the J's and $119/night for us. New York, New York @ $117/night for the J's and $130/night for us. At that rate I'm really liking NY,NY for it's generally better reviews and 4 star rating.
The Monte Carlo had a bad fire last year or the year before, and some co-workers have stayed their recently and said it's not very good anymore, but we're definitely down for NY/NY. It has a good Irish pub and the ESPN place for food. We'll go ahead and book when we hear from ya'll.

Sounds like a good deal. But I thought you want to be on the strip?
sounds good, but apparently it's a "favorite destination for Las Vegas gay travel." Only 3.5 miles to the Backdoor Lounge!

Even though I can't make it. I've stayed at the Mirage, Caesars, and Bellagio and can recommend all 3. Of course, I was never paying for the rooms ;)
