Weekend in St. Augustine
Hey everyone,
I just got back from a weekend vacation to St. Augustine. How long has it been since you've been there?!? I haven't been there since I was a little kid, so it was fun to see the sights over again. Friday night we went to a comedy club and saw a pretty good show, but I don't have any pictures. The following pictures are from Saturday and Sunday, and I'll leave some captions.

Saturday morning we saw City Hall and the Lightner Museum. Pretty nice courtyard.

Next up was St. George Street in the old town, we did some shopping and general sightseeing.

Then we went to the beach to the north, toward Jacksonville. It was extremely shelly.
After the beach we had dinner at Harry's, and here's a picture of Christina with, if you didn't notice, a much svelter version of me. (I'm down 15 pounds so far)

Later that night we went on the "Ghosts and Gravestones" tour, which was surprisingly entertaining. The actors were all really good, and the stories they told were interesting because they were all historically accurate. This is a pic of the gallows behind the old jail.

Sunday morning we went to the Castillo De San Marcos, aka "the fort". This was where I made absolutely sure my scalp and forehead were burnt. The first picture was taken inside the powder magazine, where they kept all the gunpowder. it's pretty tight in there because they built the walls to be extremely thick to guard enemy fire from causing an accidental explosion.
To finish off the trip we went to St. Augustine's beach, which was much nicer than the first beach. I thought the 3 foot drop in the sand at the water was pretty interesting. The people in the picture are right at the cliff.
Well I think I have sufficiently slowed Jae's site down to a crawl with all these pictures, so I think I'm good to stop here. No one has really posted much in a while, so what has everyone else been up to?
PS to Nick: Sorry I missed the football draft, this post explains why. I am pretty happy with the team the computers picked for me, I think I still have a pretty good chance!

My New Toy

Yes, it's true! In January I got a new desktop to replace the old laptop as my main PC, and now I've replaced the laptop with a shiny new MacBook. The new lappy is a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB of RAM (currently 512 MB, more RAM installed tomorrow), 60 GB hard drive, and a DVD+/- R/RW Superdrive. It came with a program called Parallels for free which, if you haven't heard, allows you to run XP along-side OS X without restarting the computer. That will be up and running in the near future. Once all of the networking is set up and I add the hard drive that I bought in the recent woot-off as network attached storage, I will have a pretty impressive setup. Comments welcome.

Almost done...
So I had a very productive weekend this weekend and bought the majority of my furniture for my apartment. My apartment is almost complete! Thursday night I went to Ashley Homestores and found the living room set I liked online. Once i sat on it I knew that was it because it was so comfortable with big floppy cushions and you just sink in it. I got a full sized couch, chair and ottoman in a khaki color, and a set of three glass tables (two ends and coffee). The furniture gets delivered next weekend and the tables aren't available til Sept 15th, but as long as i have a place to sit...I don't care.
As "fun" as buying furniture is, Friday night was much better! Electronics baby! I have such a weakness for electronics these days (see car), and I think it shows. Now the responsible thing to do would have been to get nice tube tv for like $500-$800 bucks since I am just starting out and blah blah blah. Well everybody knows I am not responsible when it comes to shit like that, that just isn't my style;) So I decided to go nuts and really get what I wanted for new place because this is my first time living alone and really wanted to make this place cool. So I ended up with an LG 42" Plasma HDTV paired with an LG 1000-watt dvd home theater system, and a glass media stand for my tv, components, and dvds. For people that say "you can't buy happiness"...yes you can, and LG makes it.
I will try to post pics as soon as I can; I'm going to have to just take my dad's camera:)

A New Addition....
We got our first foster dog yesterday from the Rescue-A-Golden Society of Arizona. Her name is Ava and she is a very cute and energetic 10-month-old puppy. Luckily she is already housebroken, but she definitely does not like to be left alone. Jae and I tried a trial run by gating her in the kitchen and standing outside our apartment. Minutes later, we see something moving in our kitchen window, which is way above the countertop/sink area. Somehow she managed to jump up on the counters(about 4 ft up) and was attempting to get out the window. :) Well, that's all for now, hope you like the pics.

Boston
Hey gang. Sorry for the long time with no posting (not like I post all that much anyway). Regardless, I just got to Boston and got my internet hooked up. It is weird to be back here after spending the year in Chicago and you definitely realize how tiny it is! Either way, I will be here for a long time and I am inviting, no, encouraging everyone to come to visit. I am hoping the Nick will be among the first of my visitors but we will see how that works, given his recent job success. Jae, the address is 8 Fairfield St., Boston, MA 02116 if you want to satellite image it. It is in a great area of the city too. Well that is all for now. I hope everyone is doing well.
P.S. I am now the not proud driver of a car with MA plates! I am still hanging on to my FL ID though...

Woot-Off!!!
Woot is having a woot-off today! It started at midnight central time this morning, and will probably go on until midday tomorrow. I just bought myself a 250GB SATA Hard Drive, and it's very likely that I will be watching this all day instead of getting anything done.
BTW Jae, that Snakes on a Plane voicemail you left me was hilarious. I sent a few out after I got yours.

New Place...
So I finally moved out of parent's house! I just moved into my new apartment in Jacksonville, near Ponte Vedra Beach (where i work), and I am now 10 miles from work instead of 60. You enter my front door on ground level into a small foyer with coat closet and immediately take a staircase up to my upstairs apartment. It is 925 sq ft and is really empty right now. I have my bedroom fully furnished of course and have completed my bathroom and kitchen. I have also bought a nice desk and setup an office area. So far i get free internet wirelessly! This weekend I think I am going to get my tv for the living room and sign up for cable. I will try to post pics when I can, but that may be impossbile since I don't have a camera. I have obviously been very busy, but I will try to keep you guys updated!
Any ideas for living room furniture? All I need is a loveseat, chair w/ ottoman, coffee table, and end table. I have tried Pier1, World Market (where I got my desk), and looked at Potterybarn online. I have also checked Rooms-to-Gp with no luck. Any other ideas? Later...

Keep Brian in Your Prayers......

Just wanted to let everyone know that my brother, Brian, was deployed to Iraq yesterday. He will eventually be stationed in Bayji, Iraq (north of Tikrit) but it will probably take 6-8 weeks until he can get online to update us all. We will definitely miss him at our wedding, but there is a slim chance he may get to take leave then. As soon as I get an address for him, I will post it. I'm sure he would love to hear from you all. Please keep him in your prayers.

Been busy...
So I know I haven't posted in awhile because I have been crazy busy. Last week I finally went and got an apartment and I move in this Saturday...so I have been crazy packing. I got a nice 923 sq ft 1bed/1bath apartment near the beach. I will obviously post pics when I move in.
Also, this last Sat I got to go on this crazy high-class trip around Jax with people from work. We are talking private party bus, private art gallery, and a nice private dinner. I'll explain more later and post some pics. Just think Van Gogh, Picasso, Rembrandt, and Badacelli (know I spelled that wrong). Got pics of all of them! Until next time...

Happy birthday to me
Since nobody else took the initiative, I figured I'd do it myself. You forget, don't deny it :P.

24 years in the making...

Who is that masked man? It is I, on my way home today from a day-trip to Phoenix to purchase my first motorcycle. A 2003 Suzuki SV650. I picked it up from its original owner for $3750. It is basically stock with a little over 6000 miles on it. It has a Suzuki fender eliminator, Suzuki windscreen, and handlebar mirrors.
This is a good side-shot that shows the dimensions relative to my body-size (which is all muscle by the way).
Some things this bike has over my previous motorcycle experience (Josh's bike)... #1 Fuel Injection which comes with a low-fuel light (Josh will appreciate this), #2 LCD speedometer w/ multiple trip meters, #3 the extra 145 CCs aren't bad ;)
Here are some solo shots of the bike:
