Spotify

I signed up for Spotify as soon as it became available in the US, but my friends list is looking awfully sparse. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, Spotify is essentially an iTunes type app with free, on demand access to any music you want (with the occasional ad). It also pulls your facebook contacts that are also using the service allowing you to see their top artists, tracks, playlists, etc. Request an invite at spotify.com.

So what do you do exactly go online and listen to music?

It is a program that runs on your computer locally and streams music to you over the internet. It plays your locally stored music as well.

What makes it great is you can search for anything you'd like to listen to, click play, and listen to it as much and as often as you want for free.

So can you use it on a mobile device? It looks like that is only for the premium service.

So for somebody like me who does not really care for music unless I am destroying the gym or riding in my car I think I will pass.

that's weird, for some reason i thought nick walked around with his own soundtrack playing in the background. i guess i gave him more awesome credits than he deserved.
