$250 = $300

just helped my mom set up a new ingdirect savings account. she used my referral to get a free $25 and made an initial deposit of at least $250 to get another free $25. so she was able to turn her $250 into $300 and all i got was a measly $10 referral bonus.

let me know if anyone else wants to take advantage of this, maybe i can turn these referrals into a free tank of gas :P

Jae...I might be interested, how does it work? Do you have easy access to your money?

it's just like a regular savings account. you link it with an existing checking account at any bank. then you move money between them for free.

in most ways you don't even need the checking account very often. the savings has an account number and routing number so you can do things like direct deposit from work and pay bills directly from the savings.

i've been a member since '04 and haven't found an issue with them yet. their interest rates have fluctuated with the times but as far as i can tell 3% is still very competitive, and fdic insured ;).

good enough for me, I'll signup tonight! What do I need from you to make sure I get the referral?

you should have a referral email in your inbox

so is there a minimum that you must keep in the savings account or does it even matter? Jae hit me up with a referral email i think i want to do this.
