Pats
Well I cannot believe what I just watched. The Pats played a spectacular game and yet somehow ended up losing. I know people don't like the Patriots but come on. The officials gave this thing to Indy. The second to last drive had that completely BS pass interference call that gave the Colts a TD way faster than they should have gotten it. Then the 4th and 2 spotting was pathetic. Yes it was risky for the Pats to go for it and it was stupid of them to use their timeouts so foolishly, but it was so clearly a first down. Ridiculous. I'm so sick of the refs deciding the outcome of games. Either way, the Pats looked awesome and assuming the refs don't continue these shenanigans, they have a good shot at going deep into the playoffs. That was the biggest waste of an evening. I wish I had gone to bed on time. Fuck you stupid refs.

First off the Pass Interference was a tough call, but a call none the less. Austin Collie played it perfectly. As for the spotting on 4th and 2, it was the correct call. He did not have full control of the ball when he was passed the 1st down marker, he gets spotted where he is downed. Shitty thing, but the rules. But yes, the Colts did not win this game, Bill B lost it. And he was being a bitch during his post game press conference, was kind of awkward and amusing.
I'm not really sure that is the rule. Otherwise any time a receiver bobbled the ball, you could basically carry him across the field and have no forward progress. He had possession almost immediately and when gained control of the ball, it was easily in front of the marker. The press conference is typical if you ever watch them. He always acts like that.
Yea I am not sure on the rule, but the bobble pretty much allowed them to do what they want it seems, which seems odd. That pass interference call was pretty weak as well. However, they Pats were up and had a few chances to put them away so I blame the Pats.
Either way you got to say the Pats look like one of the top teams in the AFC. Refs have been pretty bad in all sports this year it seems.
Go Browns tonight!
I chose the word seems to be in every sentence I just noticed. Exciting game though!
The Forward Progress rule basically states that a receiver in the air should be marked where he gets control of the ball. In the case of last night, he probably should have gotten a couple of extra feet, which probably would have given the Pats the first down.
Yeah it was a bunch of bull-oney... it's not like it was bobbling all over the place... I for one wouldn't have thought twice if they just gave it to them :) Lame to say the least. And yes the PI call was equal amounts of crap, as many of them were. But I make no excuses; could have done without the fumble on the 1, and short field or not we had been stopping them all night and should have just done it again. Ah well, I wasn't sure if we'd win that one anyway, but it sure was a heartbreaker. Still on top of the East though.
I did not watch the game, but saw the highlights. It looks and sounds like Belichick screwed up. Poor timeout usage and he should have punted on fourth down.
The camera angle on the 4th and 2 play was terrible and makes the call difficult to refute. I can't tell where the guy is down when he stops bobbling.
