FSU > UF ??? Lets find out.....
All-time NCAA Team Prestige rankings going back to the last 70 yrs of college football. Just thought I would stir the pot a little. Oh and yes this includes this year's championship win by the Gates. Go Noles baby maybe another couple of good years will help you catch up!!!
9.
Florida State SeminolesTotal points: 1,110Positives: No team dominated college football so completely for an extended period of time like Florida State did in the '90s. Between 1990 and 1999, Florida State led the nation in major bowl appearances (nine), major bowl wins (seven), consensus All-Americans (19), weeks at No. 1 (58), 10-win seasons (10), first-round draft picks (13) and top-5 finishes (10). The 1993 season was especially great, with three consensus All-Americans, the Heisman winner (Charlie Ward) and a national championship. The Seminoles gained 119 points that year, a Prestige Rankings single-season record.
Negatives: If you wanted a refresher on just what Bobby Bowden has accomplished in Tallahassee, consider this: Florida State hasn't had a losing season since Bowden's first year there in 1976. In the 23 seasons before that, FSU had 10 losing campaigns and just one bowl win (1965 Gator Bowl over Oklahoma).
Through the decades: Through 1958: 75th 1968: T-70th 1978: T-69th 1988: 31st 1998: 11thDid you know? In the 1990s, Florida State's dominance added up to 640 Prestige points. To put that into perspective, that is almost 100 points more than Notre Dame has accrued since 1970.
15.
Florida GatorsTotal points: 834Positives: Florida has won two of the past three national championships (and three in the past 13 years). It is ahead of in-state rival Miami in fourth place in the BCS era. The Gators have chomped their way to 10 major bowls since 1991, winning six of them. A Gator has won the Heisman Trophy three times -- only four programs can claim more. Their 34 first-round draft picks are the fourth most of any program. They also haven't had a losing season since 1979.
Negatives: Most of Florida's success has come in the past 20 years. When using the eras before the BCS was created, Florida never finished higher than 27th in any of them. Through 1958, Florida was buried in the bottom half of the nation, behind schools such as Indiana, Vanderbilt and Rutgers. The Gators didn't win a bowl game in the '70s at all. They also have been on probation three times, costing them 22 points in our formula.
Through the decades: Through 1958: T-80th 1968: 51st 1978: 44th 1988: 43rd 1998: 20thDid you know? Florida has six top-5 finishes in the past 25 seasons, which is tied with the rest of the SEC East combined.

hey all
i am back from 10 days in bum-f*** new mexico where we were doing a test for work.
amanda, hope you are feeling better. ava is also under the weather. she was bitten by a dog at the dog park and is now sporting a sweet Elizabethan collar and antibiotics. on the plus side, she gets her butt rubbed with ointment twice a day and how many of us can say that?
i wasn't able to watch the inauguration since we were working. i am now catching up on things due to the magic of digital-video-recording. even without watching the speech, i am already overwhelmed by the amount of coverage that was on tv and radio. notice that i didn't call it news coverage because even though it's on cnn i can only hear someone say "making history" so many times and still call it news. i think the networks ran out of worthwhile things to say about 16 minutes into the coverage and needed to use 6-days 7-hrs 43-mins of interviewing people in the crowd to fill in until the actual inauguration. don't get me wrong, i am as excited (exited) about the possibilities that Obama brings as anybody else. but listening to stacey from south carolina drone on about the other people from south carolina that she just happened to run into is not really enriching my life nor is it informing me of the news.
talking about dvr's, let me just say that going back to old-school non-dvr tv watching at the hotel sucks big donkey ****. not being able to watch two shows that air simultaneously is almost as annoying as having to time my sh*ts on commercial breaks.

Kickball Playoffs
Playoffs start on Friday. Everyone that can should come out and support us!
Also, I got the 700th Post!
What am I supposed to do when I stay home from work if I don't have a blog to read?
Somebody talk about something... it's been too long, my birthday was over a week ago. Here's a list of possibilities:
- I am currently rocking an awesome case of Strep Tonsillitis (not really recommended for conversation, I'm just looking for sympathy)
- Obama's inauguration speech seemed pretty depressing. And I have it saved on my DVR.
- Nobody fun is playing in the Superbowl, but I think there should still be parties.
- Anquan Boldin was a huge baby after the NFC Championship, and that made me sad for FSU... crap.
- Somebody playing kickball: talk about kickball. Unless that's a sore subject...
Okay I tried to get the ball rolling. That's all I got.

Predictions
Let's start it up. Not what you WANT to happen, but what you THINK will happen in the Championship game.
Nick's Prediction: After watching Texas and Texas Tech struggle it is obvious they have not faced any good defenses all year. However, this will be the best offense UF has faced all year. In the end I think UF will pull it out with a 31-24 victory and the Timmy love fest continues...lets just hope by some miracle he leaves for the NFL haha....
