I like the Republican Study Committee's plans! The craziest thing to me is the deficit. How is it possible, given our current economic situation, that we continue to spend more money than we have? I like the idea of China buying our debt because if they ever want to collect it, we can just tell them to take a hike! That is unless we get rid of all of our nukes and completely dissolve our military like some folks want to. Not sure what we do after that.
Having spent a considerable amount of time on the budget, I can tell you a few things. The RSC budget is a complete waste of time. It is too aggressive. The House GOP budget is where we need to start, it balances in 10 years and makes appropriate and targeted spending cuts. The President's budget is useless. It was month's late pushing it to irrelevancy. Our nation's biggest problem is the current state of uncertainty. Increasing taxes will not help. I think the best move is to increase interest rates, which will hurt in the short term but is the only thing that will get everything straight.
