Okay, it's time to piss or get off the pot. The new generation consoles provide a plethora of xmas gift ideas. As someone who is usually hard to buy for, I am getting pressured to make a decision. So that means I get to pressure the usual suspects to make a decision. Are we staying Xbox or jumping to the PS4?

I hate having to spend money monthly simply to use features on a $500 machine. So I am leaning towards the PS4. That being said, I don't tend to do much gaming these days, so I am not sure if I am on board with either... Someone convince me!
I heard a rumor that you had to have a subscription on PSN as well if you want access to multiplayer/matchmaking? Something like $50/yr. I don't mind paying if the QoS is high.
Well that would be unfortunate. I just hate the nickle and dime-ing. I understand that playing games over networks requires a lot of updating and work. But do I really need to pay a fee to watch Netflix on my xbox?
